Prison Chaplain's Altar - Oasis in the forest.

Come to me,
all you who are weary and burdened,
I will give you rest.
(Matt 11:28)

JESUS CHRIST............Friend of the rejected.

Despite dismal conditions in the world and the personal challenges that come into every life, peace within can be a reality.
We can be calm and serene regardless of the swirling turmoil all about us. Attaining harmony within ourselves depends upon our relationship with our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ and our willingness to emulate him by living the principles he has given us.
He has extended to us an invitation:
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
(Matt. 11:28)

Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.
(Mark 6:31)

I work as a Prison Chaplain. I have about 70 kilometers from my home to the place where I work. I enjoying working with people behind the bars. Some times listening to people feels very hard.

It was then I stop my car on the way home and try to take a walk on the forest road. That day it feels very heavy after listening to a young man who tryed to take his life. On my way in to the forest I took a stone in my hand and carry that while I was walking. I was thinking of that young man sad story and prayed while I was walking. After while I have place the stone in a place and soon after that I felt inner peace in my heart. Since then I use to visit this place when ever I feel to do so. It feels good when I pray and leave all what I heard during the day unto the hands of the Lord. When ever I see that Lord has help people in their dark situations, I use to place a small stone in the same place as a symbol to a answered prayer.

This is the story of Prison Chaplain's Atlar.

(I have removed the picture of the altar from this page. But if anyone want to see it, please send me a mail)

Lord, I pray, please reach out to this desperate people who is behind the bars! They needs to know that You are with them and love them very much. Lift them up and lead them through this difficult time of their life. For I know that You will never burden us with any more than we can handle as long as we have You. Be their shelter and guide, Father, rejuvenate their spirit and give them new hope.

Dear Lord, I pray for the depressed, longly, angry and tormented that they may find the internal peace that comes with spiritual faith and the opening of heart and mind to the wonders of Jesus love, grace and mercy.

We are greatful, Dear Lord, as Prison Chaplains for all that you offer out to us. May we all find that special purpose that allows us to bring a sense of peacefulness to all lives that we touch. Be with them Lord and let them feel your presence, in Christ's name!
Amen!

Prayer by St.Franciscus of Assisi

O Lord make me an instrument of thy peace,
Where there is hatred, let me bring love,
Where there is resentment, let me bring forgiveness,
Where there is discord, let me bring unity,
Where there is doubt, let me bring faith,
Where there is error, let me bring thruth,
Where there is dispair, let me bring happiness,
Where there is sadness, let me bring joy,
Where there is darkness, let me bring light.
O Master grant that I may desire rather:
To console than to be consoled.
To understand than to be understood.
To love rather than to be loved.
Because it is in giving that we obtain forgiveness,
In dying that we rise to eternal life.

He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul.

(Ps. 23:2,3)

Let us lay down our Burden

We all have burdens to bear and sometimes they can wear us down. Burdens come in all shapes and sizes—they can be individual worries or family troubles, or difficulties with relationships. They can come from peer pressure, or pressure we put on ourselves.

What is your heaviest burden right now? Picture it as it weighs on you, taking up your energy and your time. When I feel this way I use to stop my car and take a walk into the forest and carry a stone with me. I think of all things which I feel heavy and overwhelming as I carry the stone. This helps me and I encourage you who feels the same way or the other to do so. Let us go to Jesus and he will helps us to go through. He knows about you and me.

My Prayer

Father,
I pray for courage as I begin this day,
for I understand there is work to be done,
burdens to be carried,
feelings to be shared and joys to be celebrated.
Grant me the courage to be silent
that I may hear Thy voice; to persevere,
that I may share Thy victory; and to remember,
lest I forget the way by which Thou has led me.
And when this day is done,
O Lord,
may I have the courage to see Thy guiding hand in the friendships that have been made,
in the hurts that have been healed,
and in the strength that has been given.
Amen.

MY PRAYER FOR YOU

May God's miracle power flow through every aspect of your life, your home, your job, your family, your friends, your relationships, your finances, your spiritual life and your physical body as you experience a spiritual breakthrough that will penetrate to new dimensions.

The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine upon you
and be gracious to you
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.
Amen!
